To Sell, Or To Donate—What Will It Be?

Okay, so you’ve decluttered, organized, and cleaned your children’s playroom. You’ve got a pile of things that you plan to get rid of, but you’re stuck in-between selling and donating.

What do you choose?? How do you choose?

I know, it can be hard to see some things go. Especially when you’re in the mindset of it being SO WASTEFUL! I mean, why would I just donate things that I paid good money for?

Well, because that is the only way that it may leave your home!

I know myself well enough, I say that I am going to sell this big tote of toys online, but they sit there and it never gets done. Months go by, then before I know it, they are STILL taking up room in my home and in my mind. The thought of taking photos, listing them, keeping up on when and where I’m meeting these people that can and *will* back out at any moment, is too much for me to think about!

It’s not worth the $5 for me… The toys sitting there for years weren’t making me any money, so why do I feel such a loss when I don’t make a dollar selling them?

Guilt. Guilt of wasting money. Money that has already been wasted! But, finding a place to donate your belongings to that goes towards a good cause??

Totally worth it!

And the belongings are magically gone in MINUTES! No sitting around collecting dust, waiting to be listed online, OR sitting there long enough that your hoarding little ones can rummage through the stuff, explaining why they NEED these toys that they never played with.

NOT WORTH IT!

Donate the small things, sell the big things. Decide what is worth your time and let go of the rest! And know that you’re helping someone else in the meantime. Oh, and you’re helping you, too. You just don’t know it yet!

XoXo,
