How to find a home for all of your things, and cut down on clutter!

I believe that clutter comes in many forms, but the most common form of clutter is created by things not having a place in your home.

Every single thing in my home has a home. Every. Single. Item! My kids monster trucks specifically, have a specific place of their own! I don’t say this to make myself feel like the most organized human on the planet, if you know me well you’d know that’s far from true… I didn’t get here in a day, but I got here by starting where I struggle the most! And that is putting things away correctly!

But how do you find a home for all of your things?

First off, you have to know *what* you have in order to know where to put it!

You can’t have chapsticks sitting around in every single drawer and every little nook and cranny, and possibly know how many (probably too many) you have, let alone have a place to put them all…

This is why it’s so important to declutter in categories! Purge the items, and then find a place for them to live. And keep them there!

You may find it interesting to know since I decluttered my home, I don’t have things in any decorative/random drawers. In my opinion, there is no need to have random things stuffed into small drawers that are attached to random pieces of furniture. They are solely for decorative purposes to me. And just scream, “Put clutter here, please.” Anything that would go in those drawers is just us as humans not putting the item where it really goes… (I do this sometimes, so I know. I have to FORCE myself to put it away correctly, or guess what?! It actually just becomes clutter.)

So, how do you find a home for all of your things???

You start by decluttering. Then finding a home for the remaining things you’ll keep. And by starting, you’re well on your way! One step at a time…

So don’t give up, mama!
